Service Log

A service log entry is a timestamped record of a maintenance event performed on an asset or component — a clean, a calibration, a part replacement, a firmware update, and so on. Together, these entries form the maintenance side of an item's pedigree.

Logging a service

  1. Open an asset or component and choose Log Service.
  2. Pick a service type and the date the work was done.
  3. Optionally record a cost and add notes describing what happened.
  4. Save — the event is added to the item's timeline.

What you can track

  • What was done — the service type and your notes.
  • When — the date of the event, used to order the timeline.
  • Cost — recorded per event and rolled up into an asset's total cost of ownership.

Reviewing history

The Service Log page collects service events across all your assets in one place, so you can review recent work or scan an individual item's full maintenance history from its detail view.
